Late last year Kinetik, the organisation behind Roborace announced that Michelin would be the series’ official tyre supplier. And now the upcoming autonomous racing car championship has been putting Michelins’ rubber through its paces using the DevBot prototype vehicle. Episode 4 of the Roborace behind the scenes video series, Inside Roborace- shows the autonomous vehicle taking to the testing track at Michelin’s global HQ in Clermont-Ferrand, France.
Devbot tries out Michelin’s Tyres
The company states that the testing track is one of the most challenging tracks in the world. The unique circuit is equipped with advanced capabilities that help the tyre company develop its products. Special effects include the ability to simulate wet conditions by rain soaking the track, among other extreme conditions.
This is where Roborace is testing its driverless racing tyres following its partnership with Michelin. The series has been documenting its journey to the beginning of the championship in a video series and the fourth installment is now available to view on Youtube.
